Hello
IELTS applicants! We understand when it’s about the Speaking Test; the majority
of candidates get anxious. And, if the topic of the speaking test is absolutely
unfamiliar, then it leads to more nervousness and agitation.
Usually,
the IELTS Topics are chosen which
are discussed mostly and comfortably by the candidates because ultimately it’s
not a knowledge exam. The examiners will only assess your speaking skill,
specifically following a certain criterion i.e. Fluency and Coherence,
Pronunciation, Vocabulary, and Grammar. However, there are possibilities that
some unfamiliar topics can come in the IELTS
Speaking Test.
If an unfamiliar topic comes in the IELTS speaking test, then here are some
strategies that you can follow to save yourself from low band score in the
speaking test.
1.
Don’t Panic
Whenever

that you don’t have to panic. Rather than wasting your time in silly
anxiousness, spend little time in thinking what best you can say on that
specific topic. Even while preparing for the IELTS speaking test, your focus
should be on preparation without wasting any single minute.
2. Be
Honest
If
you are absolutely unfamiliar with the topic, then you can bluntly say that you
have limited information regarding the topic. You can even explain your reasons
for such limited knowledge about the topic. Moreover, to impress the examiner,
you can say that this topic will give an opportunity to expand more knowledge
on this.
Well, the main purpose is to communicate through which your English language skills and proficiencies are assessed and then analyzed, especially pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and fluency skills.
